Mason Falls to Penn State on Friday Night; Back for Rematch Saturday

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The No. 12 George Mason men's volleyball team (7-2, 4-1) fell to EIVA foe Penn State (9-2, 6-1) in four sets (24-26, 20-25, 26-24, 16-25) on Friday night.

The loss snaps the Patriots' six-game winning streak and the Nittany Lions hand Mason their first conference loss of the season.

"I thought there were moments where we did things really well, but we missed too many opportunities to convert real points when it mattered," head coach Jay Hosack said. " We will watch video and learn from tonight."

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

Senior Sam Greenslade paced the Patriots with 15 kills on 34 attempts (.353 H%) and a service ace.
Greenslade also tallied eight digs and a block on the defensive end.
Fellow senior Hayden Wagner notched 11 kills and a team-high two service aces.
Freshman Omar Hoyos earned a team-high 12 digs, coupled with eight kills in the loss.
Redshirt senior Bradley Creamer led Mason at the net with four total blocks (one solo)
