FAIRFAX, Va.
- The George Mason women's soccer team (0-1) fell to Georgetown (1-0) by a score of 2-0 on Thursday night inside George Mason Stadium.

The Patriots' offense did not get off to the start they were looking for in 2021, recording just five shots (two on goal) on the night. Georgetown spent a majority of the match with the ball, earning possession for 61 percent of the contest.

Offensively, senior Kayla Hamric and junior Dacheka Kolcum each notched a shot on goal. Junior Sara Chontosh, sophomore Grace Hotaling and freshman Jasmine Hamid each tallied a shot on the offensive end for the Green & Gold.
 
On the defensive end, senior goalkeeper Louisa Moser recorded seven saves in 90 minutes played. Fellow senior Shannon Lee and sophomore Grace Hotaling each played full time (90 minutes) for the Patriots as well.

Mason allowed 18 corner kicks to the Hoyas, one of which resulted in a goal in the 75th minute, and 13 total shots (nine on target) to Georgetown. The Hoyas spent a significant time on attack, helping to secure the road win.
