FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University men's basketball freshman guard Tyler Kolek has been named the A-10 Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced Monday.
 
Kolek put together a strong all-around effort in Wednesday's 77-45 triumph over Fordham. The Cumberland, R.I., product tallied 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting (3-6 3pt FG) to go along with four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block. It marked his seventh 10+ point effort in A-10 play this season.
 
Kolek leads the A-10 in scoring and 3pt FG made per game amongst freshmen this season (11.1 ppg). He paces the Patriots in assists (39) and is second in steals (24). His 43 3pt FG made this season ranks t-7^th most in Mason single season freshman history, despite playing just 17 games so far this season.
 
Kolek and the Patriots return to action on Wednesday (February 17) with a home contest vs. Duquesne. Tip-off in EagleBank Arena is set for 7 p.m.
