FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's volleyball team will travel to Rhode Island for a pair of A-10 matches this weekend.
The Patriots will face the Rams on Saturday (1 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m.) inside Keaney Gymnasium.
LAST TIME OUT
Mason began Atlantic 10 play 2-0 after earning a pair of wins over rival George Washington last weekend. The Patriots are 2-0 in conference play for the first time since 2011, and for the first time since joining the Atlantic 10 in 2013-14.
The Patriots defeated the Colonials in straight sets on Friday behind season highs in blocks (11.5) and hitting percentage (.326). Mason's middle blockers

ERIN DERICK HONORED
Junior setter
Erin Derick was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Monday. She averaged 10.09 assists, 2.64 digs and 0.55 kills per set in 2-1 week for the Patriots. It marked the first A-10 weekly honor of Derick's career and Mason's first A-10 Player of the Week nod since the 2018 season.
Derick registered a pair of double-doubles against George Washington. She dished out 36 assists and posted 11 digs in Mason's sweep of GW on Saturday. She recorded 47 assists and 12 digs in Mason's five-set win over the Colonials the following day.

ATLANTIC 10 PLAY
The Patriots will play a 10-match A-10 schedule beginning on Saturday, Feb. 6. Mason will play five home and five road contests during the regular season, scheduled to conclude on Friday, March 26.
The Patriots will face George Washington, Rhode Island, La Salle and Fordham in the A-10's East Regional Pod. The 2020-21 Atlantic 10 Championship will be held April 2-3 at the league's top seed.
