DAYTON, Ohio – The George Mason women's volleyball team fell in straight sets to Dayton on Friday night at the Frericks Center in Dayton, Ohio.
Mason (5-19, 3-10 A-10) posted seven blocks and 44 digs on defense, but could not overcome a cold offensive showing. The Patriots hit .147 in the match with 23 kills and nine attacking errors on 95 attempts.

Marlanna Bozicevich (13) and
Erin Derick (12) combined for 25 digs.

Ewelina Gacek and
Peyton Ehmke each notched three blocks in the loss.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The two teams exchanged a pair of scoring runs for a 12-10 Flyer advantage in the first set. The Patriots pulled within two five times down the stretch, but the Flyers held on for the win (25-20).
- Mason was unable to overcome a six-point deficit (18-12) in the second set. The Flyers won the stanza, 25-18, behind a .293 hitting percentage (18-6-41).
- Mason hit .467 to start the third set with seven kills on 15 attempts (11-10). Dayton finished the frame on a 7-2 spurt to seal the victory, 25-18.
- No Patriot registered more than six kills in the match. Freshman Olyvia Kennedy and sophomore Katelyn Clarke posted six kills apiece.
- Dayton finished with a hitting percentage of .252 in the match, behind a match-high 21 kills from Jamie Peterson.
- Bozicevich recorded three of Mason's five service aces in the match.
- Derick registered her 11th double-double of the season with 19 assists and 12 digs. It marked her sixth double-double in the last eight matches.
