SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The George Mason University men's basketball team wraps up the Crossover Classic Wednesday night with a contest vs. South Dakota State.

Tip-off between the Patriots and Jackrabbits is set for 9:30 p.m. (ET) inside the Sanford Pentagon. Wednesday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+, featuring commentary from JJ Hartigan and Freddy Coleman. In addition, Bill Rohland will call the game on the GoMason Digital Network, with streaming coverage beginning at 9:15 p.m. (ET).

PATRIOT POINTS
• The Patriots are coming off an 88-69 setback to Nevada Tuesday. The Wolfpack became the first Mason foe to shoot better than 50 percent from the floor this season (.526).

• Junior Davonte Gaines continued his torrid stretch of late with a team-high 17 points (4-5 FG) vs. Nevada to go along with seven rebounds and two steals. He's averaging 15.6 points, 9.2 rebounds, shooting 60 percent from the floor and 62.5 percent from 3 over the past five games.

• Junior Josh Oduro added 15 points (5-8 FG) and tied his career high with three steals vs. the Wolfpack. He's averaging a team-best 18.0 points and shooting 57.9 percent at the Crossover Classic.

• After entering Tuesday's game 26th nationally in 3pt FG%, Mason shot a season-low 22.9 percent (8-35) from beyond the arc. It marked just the second time this season Mason made less than 36 percent of its attempts from long range.

• Mason was + 8 (34-26) on the glass against the Wolfpack. The Patriots have outrebounded their opponent in six of seven games this season and currently rank second in the A-10 and 46th nationally in rebounding margin (+8.4).

• Graduate student DeVon Cooper is averaging 17 points, making 4.0 3pt FG/game and shooting 42.1 percent from beyond the arc in two Crossover Classic games. The Louisville, Ky., product is just 43 points away from 1,000 for his career.

• Mason opponents have found success scoring on the interior in South Dakota. Patriot foes are shooting 63.9 percent (39-61) from inside the arc at the Crossover Classic.

• Patriot foes also are a combined +19 (37-18) in points off turnovers in Sioux Falls. Mason ranks 260th nationally in turnovers/game this season (15.0).

• Mason is 4-0 this season when graduate student D'Shawn Schwartz tallies 10+ points. The team is 0-3 when he fails to reach double figures.

• After Wednesday's contest, the Patriots will take a nine-day break before returning to action on Dec. 4 vs. Old Dominion in Fairfax.

Wednesday's contest marks the first ever matchup between George Mason and South Dakota State in men's basketball.

Mason will play its first ever Summit League program on Wednesday when the Patriots battle the Jackrabbits.

A LOOK AT THE JACKRABBITS (5-2, 0-0 SUMMIT; KenPom 71)
South Dakota State was picked to win the Summit League in the conference's 2021-22 preseason poll. The Jackrabbits are 5-2 to begin the season and 1-1 at the Crossover Classic, with a 102-75 victory over Nevada and 87-76 loss to Washington. SDSU ranks 13th nationally in scoring offense (88.6 ppg) and ninth in 3pt FG percentage (.433). Sophomore Noah Freidel leads the Summit League in scoring (19.6 ppg), is first in the country in 3pt FG made (25) and third nationally in 3pt FG percentage (.455). Douglas Wilson adds 15.4 points per game and shoots 57.5 percent from the floor, while Baylor Scheierman leads the nation in defensive rebounds per game (9.43) and chips in 13.3 points per contest.

UP NEXT
After Wednesday's contest, the Patriots will take a nine-day break before returning to action on Dec. 4 vs. Old Dominion in Fairfax. The 7 p.m. contest will be televised regionally on MASN and broadcast nationally via ESPN+.
