SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The George Mason University men's basketball team (4-2) plays the second of two Crossover Classic games Tuesday night vs. Nevada (1-4) inside the Sanford Pentagon.
Tip-off between the Patriots and Wolfpack is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+, featuring commentary from JJ Hartigan and Freddy Coleman. In addition, Bill Rohland will call the game on the GoMason Digital Network, with streaming coverage beginning at 5:45 p.m. (ET).
PATRIOT POINTS
• The Patriots opened the event with a narrow 77-74 loss to Washington Monday. Mason was troubled by 14 turnovers which led to a +9 advantage (18-9) for the Huskies in points off turnovers.
• Junior
Josh Oduro recorded his second 20+ point performance of the season while tallying 21 points (6-11 FG, 9-12 FT) and nine rebounds against the Huskies.
• Graduate student
DeVon Cooper scored 18 of his season-best 21 points in the second half. He made five of nine 3-pointers in the game. Cooper has scored 12+ points in five of six games this season and ranks eighth in the A-10 in 3pt FG percentage (.410).
• Junior Davonte "Ticket" Gaines tallied his third-straight double-double while registering 13 points and 10 rebounds. He's averaging 15.3 points, 9.8 rebounds and shooting 64.3 percent from 3 over the past four games.
• Mason made nine 3-pointers on 23 attempts (.391) vs. Washington. The Patriots are 22nd nationally in 3pt FG/game (11.2), 26th in 3pt FG% (.409) and 16th in percentage of points which come from beyond the arc (43.7).
• The Patriots are averaging 17.5 turnovers over the past two games. Mason ranks 269th nationally in turnovers/game (15.2) this season.
• After ranking in the top-20 nationally in 2pt FG% for the first 10 days of the season, Mason has struggled inside the arc over the past two games. After making 13 of 31 attempts vs. Washington (.419), the Green & Gold are now at 41.1 percent (23-56) over the past two contests.

• After Tuesday's contest, Mason wraps up the Crossover Classic vs. South Dakota State Wednesday. The Patriots then will take a nine-day break before returning to action on Dec. 4 vs. Old Dominion in Fairfax.
• Tuesday's game vs. Nevada will mark Mason's first vs. a Mountain West opponent since 2017. Wednesday's game vs. SDSU will be the Patriots' first ever against a current member of the Summit League.

Junior Davonte "Ticket" Gaines is currently in the midst of a blistering stretch of basketball. He's the first Patriot to post a double-double in three-consecutive games since Justin Kier in 2019.

Tuesday's contest marks the first ever matchup between George Mason and Nevada in men's basketball.
HISTORY vs. MOUNTAIN WEST PROGRAMS
Mason will look for its first ever win over a current member of the Mountain West Conference on Tuesday. The Patriots are 0-5 in five previous MWC contests. Mason is 0-3 all time against New Mexico, 0-1 against Boise State and 0-1 against Fresno State. The matchup against the Bulldogs was Mason's most recent, as the teams matched up on Nov. 22, 2017 in the Cancun Challenge.
A LOOK AT THE WOLFPACK (1-4, 0-0 MOUNTAIN WEST; KenPom 88)
Nevada was picked to finish third out of 11 teams in the 2021-22 Mountain West preseason poll. Prior to the Crossover Classic, the Wolfpack opened with a 91-76 win over Eastern Washington, before dropping a home contest to San Diego (75-68) and road games at Santa Clara (96-74) and San Francisco (73-70). Nevada fell to South Dakota State, 102-75, in its Crossover Classic opener. Senior Desmond Cambridge Jr. leads the team with 15.0 points per game and chips in 4.5 rebounds per contest. Cambridge Jr. is one of four Wolfpack student-athletes who average double figures. Junior Grant Sherfield adds 14.0 points per game and ranks in the top-20 nationally with 6.2 assists per contest. Warren Washington chips in 13.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
