SERIES HISTORY
The former Colonial Athletic Association foes have met 55 times since Mason's second season as a program in 1974-75 for one of the Patriots' longest running rivalries. The Patriots defeated the Eagles 73-55 in their most recent meeting on Nov. 21, 2019 in Fairfax.

Mason leads the all-time series 31-24 and is 14-13 when facing American on the road. This marks the second of four matchups against a Patriot League opponent this season. Mason is 56-37 all-time against the Patriot League, and recently defeated Loyola (Md.) 53-51 earlier this season.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
American will open its home slate after an opening four-game stretch on the road. The Eagles are 2-2 after dropping a 73-56 contest at Minnesota on Wednesday (Nov. 17).

The Eagles return 90.1 percent of last year's scoring (57.7 ppg) and 87.6 percent of its rebounding (28.4 rpg). American was predicted to finish fourth in the Patriot League Preseason Poll for its the highest preseason ranking since 2018.
