FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's basketball team will face William & Mary on Friday night. Tip-off is schedule for 7 p.m. inside Kaplan Arena in Williamsburg, Va.
Friday's game will be broadcast nationally on FloHoops ($). In addition, Brian McSweeney will call the game on the GoMason Digital Network, with pre-game coverage beginning at 6:50 p.m.
PATRIOT POINTS
* Mason continues its five-game road stretch on Friday night against William & Mary.
* Mason (3-1) downed Charleston Southern, 64-55, for its third straight road win. Mason is now 3-0 in true road games for the first time since 1987-88. The Patriots have also won three straight road games for the first time since 2017-18.
* Four Patriots finished in double figures, behind a career-high 19 points from junior
Jordan Wakefield.
* Wakefield recorded career highs in field goals made (7) and three-point field goals made (5). It marked her fourth straight game in double figures, and third time leading the team in scoring this season.

Taylor Jameson (10) and
Amaya Scott (10) also finished in double figures for the Patriots. Doster added a team-high eight rebounds while Jameson posted four assists and two steals.
* Scott registered the 43rd double-digit scoring performance of her career vs. Charleston Southern. She's 180 points away from 1,000 in her career.
* Mason began the 1987-88 road portion of its schedule with four straight wins. A win against William & Mary on Friday would match the Patriots' best road start as a Division I program.
* Wakefield averaged 15.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game in a strong opening week for the Patriots (Nov. 9-14). She earned a spot on the A-10's weekly honor roll after shooting 42.9 percent from the floor (12-28) and 46.7 percent from deep (7-15). She also went a perfect 15-for-15 from the free throw line which currently leads the A-10.
* Mason ranks 12th in the nation in free throws made (57). The Patriots have made 78 trips to the charity stripe this season (.731).
* Wakefield ranks ninth in the A-10 in scoring (16.3). She sits second in the A-10 and eighth in the nation in three-pointers made (12). She also ranks fourth in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (.522).
* Scott ranks 21ST in the A-10 in scoring (12.3) and rebounding (6.3). She's sixth in the league in offensive boards per game (3.0).
* Redshirt sophomore
Jayla Adams leads the team in assists (4.0) - good for sixth in the A-10. She tied her career high in assists (7) vs. FIU. She had led the team in assists in three games this season.
* Wakefield and Jameson both boast a perfect free throw percentage. Wakefield is 15-of-15 while Jameson is 10-of-10 from the charity stripe.
* In just four games, Mason has matched its win total from a season ago. The Patriots are off to a 3-1 start with their lone loss coming against then-No. 24 Virginia Tech.
SERIES HISTORY
Mason looks to earn its 50th all-time win against former CAA foe William & Mary on Friday night. The Patriots lead the all-time series, 49-24.
Despite dominating the all-time series, Mason is just 3-9 in the last 12 meetings. Mason has lost two straight to the Tribe, including a 48-43 setback on Dec. 16, 2020 in Fairfax.
SCOUTING THE TRIBE
William & Mary is 1-2 on the young season, picking up a 83-81 win over Randolph College on Nov. 14. The Tribe fell to Coppin State (73-56) and most recently Navy (66-54).
Bre Bellamy (12.0) and Riley Casey (11.3) are averaging double figures for the Tribe. Bellamy is shooting 78.9 percent from the floor (15-19) while Casey has made six three-pointers (.400).
W&M was picked to finish 8th in the CAA Preseason Poll. The Tribe returns two starters from last season, and added six newcomers.
