FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's soccer team is back on the road for an Atlantic 10 Conference match against Fordham on Saturday, Oct. 9, with the opening kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. at Jack Coffey Field in Bronx, N.Y.
Last time out, the Patriots (2-8-1, 0-3-0 A-10) fell in double-overtime to St. Bonaventure, 2-1, on Wednesday night at George Mason Stadium.
Mason sophomore midfielder
Louis Lehr scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season in the 35th minute of play. Senior defender
Jakob Rylander picked up his first assist and freshman midfielder
Luciano Covella recorded his second assist of the year on the play.
The Patriots outshot the Bonnies, 18-5, including a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal.
Lehr leads the team in goals (4), points (8), shots (22) and shots on goal (10). Graduate student forward
Miles Montgomery leads the team in assists (3), is second in points (5), and is third in goals (1), shots (10) and shots on goal (6).

William Schutze (0-0-0, 0.00 GAA, 13 MIN) has made one appearance.
Mason is 3-1-1 in five all-time meetings against Fordham. The Patriots are 1-1-0 in games played in the Bronx. Mason blanked Fordham, 5-0, on Oct. 25, 2015.
In the last meeting between the two teams, the Rams defeated the Patriots for the first time, 3-1 on Oct. 26, 2019 at Jack Coffey Field. Fordham scored two goals in the first half to take control, finding the back of the net in the eighth and 36th minute.
Mason senior midfielder Sukrija Dudic scored the lone goal for the Patriots in the 79th minute of play.
The Rams outshot the Patriots 22-5, including a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal. Fordham had nine corner kicks, while Mason had two corner kicks in the match.

The eight-game Atlantic 10 schedule includes road contests against Saint Joseph's (Sept. 17), Saint Louis (Sept. 25), Fordham (Oct. 9) and George Washington (Oct. 20). The Patriots will host St. Bonaventure (Oct. 6), VCU (Oct. 16), Davidson (Oct. 23) and La Salle (Oct. 30) in A-10 play.
Admission is free for all Patriots' men's soccer home games played at George Mason Stadium.
SCOUTING FORDHAM
The Rams have an overall record of 4-7-1, including a mark of 2-2-0 against Atlantic 10 Conference opponents. Fordham is 2-1-1 at home and 2-6-0 on the road.
Last time out, Fordham built on a 1-0 first-half lead, scoring four goals in the second half on the way to a 5-1 victory over Davidson on Wednesday at Jack Coffey Field.
The Rams outshot the Wildcats, 16-9, including a 9-5 advantage in shots on goal. Fordham had four corner kicks, while Davidson had three corner kicks in the match.
Graduate student defender Matt Sloan leads the club in goals (4) and points (10). Sophomore midfielders Max Rogers and Florian Deletioglu are tied for second on the team in goals (3).
Rogers is second on the team in assists (3), points (9), shots (23) and paces the Rams in shots of goal (9).
Senior midfielder Paul Makaj leads the Rams in assists (4) in 12 games played.
Sophomore goalkeeper Nick Buchholz (4-3-0, 1.56 GAA, 28 SV, 633 MIN) has played eight games with six starts. Junior goalkeeper Callum James (0-4-1, 2.11 GAA, 18 SV, 470 MIN) has made six starts this season.
