FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's volleyball team fell in straight sets to Saint Louis on Friday night at Chaifetz Pavilion in Saint Louis, Mo.
The Patriots could not overcome a cold hitting night, finishing with a hitting percentage of .047 in the match (29-24-106).
Freshmen
Olyvia Kennedy led the Patriots with team highs in kills (12) and digs (9).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Mason hit .000 in the opening set with eight kills and eight attacking errors. Saint Louis tabbed 14 kills to go along with 16 digs to claim the first set, 25-16.
- The Patriots scored four straight points with Stephanie Der behind the service line to cut their deficit to three late in the second set (24-21). Out of the timeout, SLU scored the final point to win the frame, 25-21.
- SLU scored the final five points of the third set to seal the victory, 25-20.
- The Billikens outblocked the Patriots, nine to six. Seniors Peyton Ehmke and Katie Parmalee combined for six blocks in the loss.
- Freshman Ewelina Gacek added nine digs, five kills and two blocks in the match.
