FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's soccer team plays its final match of the season on Saturday, hosting La Salle on Senior Day with the opening kickoff scheduled for 2 p.m. at George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Va.
 
Seniors Jonathan Fawole, Miles Montgomery and Jakob Rylander will be recognized prior to the match.
 
Last time out, the Patriots (2-12-1, 0-7-0 A-10) fell to Davidson, 1-0, last Saturday at George Mason Stadium.
 
The Patriots outshot the Wildcats, 16-8, including a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal.  Mason finished with 14 corner kicks, while Davidson had four corner kicks in the match.
 
Sophomore midfielder Louis Lehr leads the team in goals (4), points (8), shots (27) and shots on goal (11). Freshman forward Balint Kocso is second on the club in goals (3), points (6), shots (22) and shots on goal (9).  The two have combined to score seven of the Patriots 10 goals this season.   
 
Graduate student forward Miles Montgomery and freshman midfielder Linus Dahl are tied for the team lead in assists (3).  Montgomery is second on the club in points (5), and is third in goals (1), shots (11) and shots on goal (6).
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Jackson Lee (2-11-1, 0-6-0 A-10, 1.69 GAA, 58 SV, 1335 MIN) has started all 15 matches for Mason, while sophomore goalkeeper William Schutze (0-1-0, 0-1-0 A-10, 2.16 GAA, 4 SV, 41 MIN) has made two appearances.
 
ABOUT THE PATRIOTS
 
The Patriots have 12 returners and 19 newcomers on the roster under second-year head coach Elmar Bolowich.
 
Returning for the Patriots are senior defender Jakob Rylander, along with junior forward Kent Harrison and defender Jonathan Fawole.  Mason has nine sophomores on the roster with goalkeeper Jackson Lee, defender Noah McGrath, midfielders Daniel Chica, Evan Pedraza, Christopher Schray and Henry Wachsman, and forwards Nicolas Alt, Ishmail Kamara and Louis Lehr.
 
The newcomers include 14 freshmen.  Forwards Balint Kocso, Ryan Mahon and Darri Palsson, and midfielders Jose Alvarado, Luciano Covella, Linus Dahl and Michael Medina.
 
Rookie defenders Jaden Berman, Valentin Brandis, Marcel Cole, Ahmed Mohamed and Joshua Morrobel will join the back line in front of freshmen goalkeepers Matthew Bauer and Jake Lee.  
 
The Patriots added graduate student defender Kennedy Davis and forward Miles Montgomery, in addition to junior midfielder Cameron Revels, sophomore goalkeeper William Schutze and sophomore midfielder Mike Oropeza.
 
Mason played two games in August, seven games in September, and seven matches in October. 
 
The eight-game Atlantic 10 schedule includes road contests against Saint Joseph's (Sept. 17), Saint Louis (Sept. 25), Fordham (Oct. 9) and George Washington (Oct. 20).  The Patriots will host St. Bonaventure (Oct. 6), VCU (Oct. 16), Davidson (Oct. 23) and La Salle (Oct. 30) in A-10 play.
 
Admission is free for all Patriots' men's soccer home games played at George Mason Stadium.
 
SCOUTING LA SALLE
 
The Explorers have an overall record of 5-10-0, including a mark of 1-6-0 against Atlantic 10 Conference opponents.  La Salle is 2-4-0 at home and 3-6-0 on the road.

Last time out, La Salle defeated Columbia, 4-1, on Tuesday at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium in New York. 

The Explorers scored four goals in the second half, with senior forward Omari Cotterell netting the equalizer in the 52nd minute and senior forward Nigel Buckley recording a hat trick with goals in the 55th, 80th and 83rd minutes.

The four goals are the most that the Explorers have scored on the road this season.
 
Buckley leads the team in goals (6) and points (14).  He is third in shots (20) and shots on goal (12).

Sophomore forward Junior Nare is second on the club in goals (5) and tied for second in points (11).  He paces the Explorers in shots on goal (19). 
 
Cotterell is tied for first on the team in assists (3), is tied for second in points (11) and third in goals (4).  He leads the team in shots (39) and is second in shots on goal (17).
 
Four goalkeepers have played games for the Explorers this season.
 
Graduate student Mitch Foster (2-5-0, 1.38 GAA, 20 SV, 585 MIN) has started seven matches, junior Carlos Mora (2-3-0, 2.31 GAA, 20 SV, 468 MIN) has started five games, sophomore Cam Hall (0-2-0, 3.47 GAA, 6 SV, 233) has started three games and senior Brett Werner (1-0-0, 1.00 GAA, 3 SV, 90 MIN) has made one start.

The Patriots and Explorers have faced each other nine times, with La Salle leading the all-time series, 4-3-2. 
 
Mason is 1-2-2 against La Salle since joining the Atlantic 10 Conference in 2013.
 
The Patriots and Explorers met for the first time in 1999, with Mason recording a 2-1 victory in overtime on Sept. 18, 1999 in Fairfax.
