FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's soccer team dropped its home match to Davidson, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Va.
Mason (2-12-1, 0-7-0 A-10) fell behind Davidson (8-5-2, 3-2-2 A-10) midway through the first half.
The Patriots controlled much of the play in the first half and outshot the Wildcats 9-5 in the first 45 minutes.
In the 29th minute, freshman forward Vincent Bannage scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season, sending his shot into the lower right corner from just outside the six to account for the lone tally of the match.
Mason sophomore goalkeeper
Jackson Lee (2-12-1, 0-7-0 A-10) made three saves, while Davidson junior goalkeeper Giacomo Piccardo (5-3-2) made five saves in the match to record his first shutout of the season.

The Patriots outshot the Wildcats, 16-8, including a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal. Mason finished with 14 corner kicks, while Davidson had four corner kicks in the match.
