FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason women's volleyball team defeated Fordham in four sets on Friday night at the Recreation Athletic Complex in Fairfax, Va.

"Tonight was such a gritty win for our team," said head coach
Aylene Ilkson. "We fought for every point, and really went after it from all aspects of the game. I thought our attacking was incredibly intentional and aggressive. We certainly worked hard this week on our serve-and-pass and I thought that really shined as well. On top of our technical game plan, I believe what really put us over the edge tonight was the bench and fans who supported us every play. They made it a wild atmosphere, and I couldn't be more grateful for them. We are certainly going to try and take this momentum and push it into our match tomorrow."
In addition, senior setter
Erin Derick posted her ninth double-double of the season, fourth straight, with 49 assists and 11 digs. Senior libero
