FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's volleyball team will play back-to-back matches against crosstown rival George Washington this weekend.
After four straight road contests, the Patriots return home to host the Colonials on Friday. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the RAC.
The following day, Mason will head to the District to take on GW at 5 p.m. Both matches will be broadcast nationally on ESPN+.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Mason moved to 0-6 in Atlantic 10 play after suffering losses to Rhode Island, 3-1, and Fordham, 3-1, last weekend.
- Senior Katie Parmalee posted 10-plus kills in both matches – 14 against Rhode Island (.216) and 10 against Fordham (.400). She added five blocks and three aces against Fordham on Sunday.
- Over the last two matches, senior Peyton Ehmke has tallied 20 total kills while freshman Olyvia Kennedy has chipped in 18 total kills.
- Junior Christina Walker made her season debut against Fordham. She finished with four kills (.364) and four blocks.
- Defensive duo Marlanna Bozicevich and Stephanie Der combined for 36 digs against Rhode Island and Fordham. Der currently ranks eighth in the A-10 in digs per set (2.90).
- Senior setter Erin Derick sits fourth in the A-10 in assists per set with 8.23.
- Mason is 13-43 all-time against George Washington. The Patriots were a perfect 3-0 against the Colonials in the shortened 2020-21 campaign.
