BRONX, N.Y. — The George Mason women's volleyball team fell to Fordham on Sunday afternoon at Rose Hill Gym in the Bronx.
The Rams defeated Mason in four sets — 22-25, 25-20, 10-25, 22-25.
A trio of Patriots finished with double-digit kills: Olyvia Kennedy (11), Katie Parmalee (10) and Peyton Ehmke (10).
Parmalee hit at an impressive .400 clip to go along with five blocks.
In addition, junior Christina Walker made her season debut against the Rams. She finished with four kills (.364) and four blocks.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- A back-and-forth first set saw the Rams claim the frame, 25-22. Parmalee and Kennedy combined for nine kills on only two attacking errors.
- Mason forced seven straight errors by Fordham in the second set. The run allowed the Patriots to win the stanza, 25-20.
- The Rams used an early 6-0 scoring run to cruise to the third set win, 25-10. Mason hit .030 in the set with seven kills and six attacking errors. Fordham tallied 16 kills with zero attacking errors on 28 attempts (.571).
- Setters Erin Derick (21) and Grace Kristofic (15) guided Mason's offense. The Patriots hit .173 in the match compared to the Rams' mark of .295.
- The Rams outblocked the Patriots 11 to eight.
- Three Patriots finished with double-digit digs: Kristofic (15), Derick (10) and Marlanna Bozicevich (10).
