RICHMOND, Va. — The George Mason women's volleyball team fell in four sets to VCU on Friday night at the Siegel Center in Richmond, Va.

Down two sets to none, Mason battled back to take the third set. The Patriots put down a set-high 12 kills on 10 assists (.206) to claim the set, 25-18.

VCU responded and sealed the victory with a 25-19 fourth-set win to improve to 7-9 overall and 3-1 in A-10 play. Mason dropped to 2-12 overall and 0-3 in league play.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• VCU outhit Mason, .257 to .159. The Rams put down 56 kills compared to Mason's mark of 39.
• Mason was led by duo Olyvia Kennedy and Peyton Ehmke who combined for 17 kills. Kennedy registered a team-high nine kills (.238) while Ehmke added eight (.316).
• Senior setter Erin Derick registered her fifth double-double of the season with 31 assists and 14 digs.
• Freshman Camille Larkin came off the bench for a team-high four blocks to go along with three kills.
• Stephanie Der (13) and Marlanna Bozicevich (10) combined for 23 digs on defense. 
• The Rams held a slight advantage in aces (8-5), blocks (10-9) and digs (60-53).
