FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason women's volleyball head coach Aylene Ilkson has announced the addition of six student-athletes who will compete for the Green & Gold beginning in fall 2021.

The incoming class features Damiana Bova-Ford (Plano, Texas), Olyvia Kennedy (Columbus, Ohio), Ewelina Gacek (Justice, Ill.), BrookeLynn Sapp (Park City, Utah), Camille Larkin (Carson City, Nevada) and Morgan Nguyen (Fairfax, Va.).

For more information on each student-athlete, see the individual capsules below (Position(s) and hometown adjacent to each name).

Damiana Bova-Ford | Setter | Plano, Texas
A five-foot-nine setter, Bova-Ford played volleyball for Liberty High School in Frisco, Texas. She was an all-district and all-academic selection while serving as team captain. A member of Texas Advantage Volleyball Club, she qualified for nationals in three consecutive seasons and was the National Champion USA in 2019.

What Coach Ilkson is saying: "I am so excited to have Damiana and her family join the Mason family. She is one of the best setters coming out of Texas and perhaps this entire '21 class. Damiana is an exceptional leader and a fierce competitor who has great vision and ability to raise the level of everyone around her. She is a former junior national champion and will bring her ability to win to Fairfax. It is going to be such a fun experience getting to work with Damiana over the next couple years."

Olyvia Kennedy | Right Side | Columbus, Ohio
A four-year varsity letterwinner in volleyball and track, Kennedy competed at Bishop Watterson High School in Columbus, Ohio. She is a two-time First Team All-Conference selection and was named Player of the Year in 2019. She plays club volleyball for Mintonette where she was the premier national champions in 2019.

What Coach Ilkson is saying: "I'm so excited to welcome Olyvia and her family to the Mason fold. Olyvia had been on my radar for a long time due to her tenacious competitive drive and desire to the be the best. She brings a dedicated volleyball mindset to the court every time she plays and truly works at her highest level at all times. Olyvia is a player who teams struggle to contain. She is someone who believes in fighting for every point. Working with Olyvia has been so much fun and I look forward to that over the next couple of years."

Ewelina Gacek | Outside | Justice, Ill.
Gacek, a five-foot-11 outside, brings a wealth of playing experience at the high school and club levels. At Marist, she claimed the IHSA 2018 Class A State Championship and earned the PROGRAM award. Her statistics include 63 kills, 18 blocks, 55 digs, eight aces and six assists. She also plays for First Alliance Volleyball Club where she was tabbed to the 2020 Nike President's Day All-Tournament Team. The club was named the 2019 Windy City National Qualifier Champions.

What Coach Ilkson is saying: "Ewelina is one of the most fundamentally sound players I have ever recruited. She can play on all sides of the ball and does so at an exceptionally high level. Ewelina will bring consistency and an incredible work ethic to Fairfax. I look forward to working with such a dedicated athlete. It is such a joy to welcome her and her family to the Mason community."

BrookeLynn Sapp | Right Side/Middle Blocker | Park City, Utah
A five-foot-11 middle blocker, Sapp celebrated a decorated high school playing career at Park City. She was named First Team All-Region as well as Honorable Mention All-State. She earned the program's Most Valuable Player award in 2020.

What Coach Ilkson is saying: "BrookeLynn caught my eye the first time I ever saw her club team play. She is energetic, focused and can play any position in the front row which makes her a real threat. She is an incredible athlete who possess the skill to be an elite blocker while creating a ton of offense for our program. BrookeLynn is a student of the game and strives to be better constantly which will make coaching her so enjoyable. It is a great pleasure to have BrookeLynn and all the Sapps to be a part of the Mason family."

Camille Larkin | Middle Blocker | Carson City, Nevada
Larkin shined as a middle blocker at Carson High School in Nevada. She was an All-Conference selection and served as team captain. She is the team's leader in kills and blocks, hitting at a .340 clip while posting 57 blocks. In addition, she plays for Silver State Volleyball Club.

What Coach Ilkson is saying: "Cami is a diamond in the rough that I believe was under-recruited and is going to bring a lot to our program. She has continued to get better every time I see her play. Her athleticism and dynamic abilities as a middle blocker really stood out to me. She is a student of the game who wants to learn and get better every day. She has such a high ceiling and an untapped level of potential that I know is going to bring us dominance in the front row. It is a pleasure to welcome Cami and her family to Mason Nation."

Morgan Nguyen | Libero | Fairfax, Va.
A local product from Fairfax, Nguyen is a four-year varsity letterwinner in volleyball at Falls Church. She was named First Team All-District and All-Region and led her squad to a district championship in 2018. The five-foot-one libero also plays for Vienna Elite Volleyball Club.

What Coach Ilkson is saying: "Morgan is a local product who has wowed me ever since she started coming to our camps a couple of summers ago. She may be small; but she is fierce with energy and an ability to cover a ton of ground in the back row. She has an incredible work ethic which is just one of the many attributes she will bring to our program. She is one of the most dedicated players of the game and I believe her dedication will be infectious to those who play around her. I'm so excited to welcome Morgan and her parents to the Patriot family."
