FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's volleyball team fell in straight sets to Old Dominion on Friday afternoon in Norfolk, Va.
The Monarchs claimed the 3-0 victory for their first-ever win in program history. Mason drops to 0-1 on the young season and will look to bounce back Sunday against Norfolk State.
"We really struggled to get any offense going today and although holding steady leads in the second and third sets, we couldn't find a way to score down the stretch," said head coach
Aylene Ilkson. "We have a lot of work to continue to do and the team understands it is on everyone to keep working hard and pushing themselves. We are in this together and I'm hoping we can get back in the gym tomorrow for a better outcome on Sunday."
