FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason University men's basketball team plays its second-straight contest vs. Saint Joseph's on Saturday afternoon inside Hagan Arena.

Tip-off between the Patriots and Hawks in Philadelphia is set for 12:30 p.m. Saturday's game will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network, featuring commentary from Brendan Burke and Tim McCormick. In addition, Rohland will call the game on the GoMason Digital Network, with streaming coverage beginning at 12:15 p.m.

PATRIOT POINTS
• Mason won the first matchup, 87-85, in double overtime on Wednesday in Fairfax.

• It marked Mason's second double OT game in seven A-10 contests this season. It's also the first season in the Patriots' Div. I history the team has played two 2OT games in the same campaign.

• Senior Javon Greene led Mason with a season-best 25 points (9-17 FG, 2-5 3pt FG) to go along with nine rebounds and five steals. He has tallied at least two steals in each of the past five games and is fourth in the A-10 in thefts in A-10 play (2.3/game).

• Junior Jordan Miller added 17 points. He's averaging 19.5 points per game over Mason's past two games and is 10th in the league in scoring in league games (14.9 ppg).

• Sophomore Josh Oduro added his first double-double of the season and second of his career vs. SJU (14 pts, 13 reb). His career-best eight offensive rebounds against the Hawks marked the most by a Mason player since AJ Wilson tallied nine on Nov. 19, 2019 vs. Loyola (Md.).

• Wilson notched 14 points and blocked a season-best six shots in the win. The Laurel, Md., product is just two blocks away from 200 for his career and 13 away from tying George Evans for first on the all-time Mason list. He's fifth in the nation in career blocks and 14th in the nation in blocks/game this season (2.6)

• With his six steals vs. SJU, Greene passed Erik Herring and Cam Long and moved into sixth on the all-time Mason steals list (149).He's just three steals away from moving into fourth on the all-time Patriot ledger. Nationally, he is 29th in career thefts.

• Mason is averaging 17.5 offensive rebounds/game over the past two contests. The Patriots rank third in the A-10 and 66th nationally with 11.92 offensive boards/game.

• The Patriots rank 320th nationally in free throw percentage (.620). On the other end, Mason opponents shoot 73.2 percent from the line in head-to-head competition (61st nationally).

• The Patriots are 5-0 when scoring 70+ points this season but just 2-6 when failing to hit the 70-point plateau.

• After relying on the 3-ball during the non-conference slate, Mason now leads the A-10 in percentage of points coming from inside the arc (.578) in league play.

HISTORY vs. SAINT JOSEPH'S
Saturday's matchup marks the 13th all-time meeting between Mason and Saint Joseph's and the second matchup in as many games this season. Mason leads the series, 7-5, and has won seven of the past eight meetings. The Patriots have won the past three matchups played on Hawk Hill. Mason is 7-2 vs. the Hawks under Dave Paulsen. Mason won the first meeting this season, 87-85, in double overtime on Wednesday in Fairfax. Senior Javon Greene led Mason with a season-best 25 points to go along with nine rebounds and four steals, while redshirt-senior AJ Wilson aded 14 points and a season-best six blocks, including one that saved the Patriots at the end of regulation.

HISTORY vs. THE BIG FIVE
Mason is 17-12 all time against members of Philadelphia's "Big 5." Mason is 7-5 against Saint Joseph's, 6-2 vs. La Salle, 1-4 against Villanova and 3-1 vs. Penn. The Patriots have never played Temple. Mason's most memorable Big Five win came in the 2011 NCAA Tournament, when the Green & Gold knocked off Villanova, 61-57, in the Round of 64 in Cleveland, Ohio. Harkening back to the old CAA days, Mason also has battled "City Six" school Drexel on 22 occasions while amassing a record of 14-8. Mason already owns two wins over the Big Five this season, including a 75-42 victory over La Salle and an 87-85 win over Saint Joseph's.

A LOOK AT THE HAWKS (1-11, 0-6 A-10, NET #249, KenPom #184)
Saint Joseph's was picked to finish 12th in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll. The Hawks have played a top-25 schedule nationally, including games against KenPom top-10 opponents Tennessee and Villanova. Saint Joseph's is 0-6 to begin A-10 play. The Hawks rank 18th nationally in pace of play, but struggle defensively, where the team ranks 263rd in efficiency (1.057 points/possession). SJU gives up 85.8 points/game. The Hawks rank 40th nationally in 3-point field goals made/game (9.2) and are 27th in attempts (30.6/game). The Hawks made 13 3-pointers on Wednesday vs. the Patriots.

Saint Joseph's has been without leading scorer Ryan Daly (17.2 ppg) over the past seven games due to a wrist injury. Redshirt junior Taylor Funk ranks second on the team in scoring (16.4 ppg) and shoots 51.4 percent from the floor, while sophomore Jack Forrest is at 11.5 points per contest and shoots 35.5 percent from 3-point range. Both Funk (19 points, 9 rebounds) and Forrest (13 points) were in double figures against the Patriots on Wednesday.

Mason returns home for the first of two Revolutionary Rivalry contests vs. George Washington this season. The Patriots will host the Colonials on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast regionally on MASN2 and nationally on ESPN+.
