FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason University men's basketball team plays the first of back-to-back contests against Saint Joseph's on Wednesday in Fairfax. The teams will match up again on Saturday in Philadelphia.
Tip-off between the Patriots and Hawks is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+, featuring commentary from Bill Rohland. In addition, Rohland will call the game on the GoMason Digital Network, with streaming coverage beginning at 12:15 p.m.
PATRIOT POINTS
• Mason is coming off an 80-60 setback at Rhode Island on Saturday. The Patriots were outscored by 15 over the final nine minutes of action after leading for much of the first half.
• Junior
Jordan Miller led Mason with a game-high 22 points (9-17 FG, 4-8 3pt FG) and added five rebounds. Miller ranks 15th in the A-10 in scoring (15.3 ppg) and is seventh in 3pt FG percentage (.429) on the year.
• Saturday's game marked another stellar effort for Miller away from Fairfax. He averages 20.5 points and shoots 51.8 percent in road/neutral games, compared to 7.5 points per game and 37.5 percent shooting at home.

Tyler Kolek tallied 13 points Saturday. He's scored 10+ points in four of six A-10 games in 2020-21.
• The Patriots shot a season-low 33.3 percent (23-69) from the floor vs. the Rams. Mason made 7-of-13 3-pointers in the first half but just 2-of-15 in the second. The Patriots made 14-of-40 2-point attempts (.350) for the game.
• Mason is shooting 27.0 percent (20-74) from 3-point range over the past three games.
• In the Patriots' past three losses, Mason has been outscored by an average of 2.7 in the first half and 12.3 in the second half.

Javon Greene tallied a season-best five steals and is now up to 145 for his career (32nd nationally). He needs two more steals to move into a tie for sixth with Cam Long on the all-time Mason list.

Wednesday's matchup marks the 12th all-time meeting between Mason and Saint Joseph's. Mason leads the series, 6-5, and has won six of the past seven meetings. Mason is 6-2 vs. the Hawks under
Dave Paulsen. This past season, Mason won 62-55 in Fairfax on Feb. 22, 2020, then defeated the Hawks, 77-70, in the A-10 First Round on March 11 at the Barclays Center.
AJ Wilson averaged 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and shot 53.8 percent in the two games last season, including a 24-point, 9-rebound performance in Brooklyn.

Saint Joseph's was picked to finish 12th in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll. The Hawks have played a top-25 schedule nationally, including games against KenPom top-10 opponents Tennessee and Villanova. Saint Joseph's is 0-5 to begin A-10 play. The Hawks rank 12th nationally in pace of play, but struggle defensively, where the team ranks 262nd in efficiency (1.056 points/possession). SJU gives up 85.7 points/game.
The Hawks have been without leading scorer Ryan Daly (17.2 ppg) over the past six games due to a wrist injury. Redshirt junior Taylor Funk ranks second on the team in scoring (16.2 ppg) and shoots 52 percent from the floor, while sophomore Jack Forrest is at 11.4 points per contest.
