Men's Volleyball 1/11/2021 11:30:00 AM
FULL SCHEDULE

FAIRFAX, Va. – The No. 15 George Mason men's volleyball program has announced their full schedule for the 2021 season, featuring four contests (two home games) against No. 11 Penn State and a 20-game EIVA slate.

The Patriots will play a pair of conference games each weekend, competing against their EIVA opponents four times each this season (two matches at home & two matches on the road). Mason begins their season with a pair of non-conference games at home against Ball State (Jan. 22-23) to get more familiar with the new schedule layout.

"I am excited about the changes we had to make for the EIVA this year," head coach Jay Hosack said. "Playing top programs is tough already. Now playing these programs four times in a season is really going to push our guys to remember the previous things we did well and the things we need to work on for the next time we play them. The EIVA is strong this year and that will prepare the conference champion well for the NCAA Tournament."

Aside from the Patriots' first two home games (12 p.m.) and their road matches against Sacred Heart (both 1 p.m. starts), all matches this season will be played at 7 p.m. ET.

All Mason home games will be broadcasted on ESPN+. To subscribe to ESPN+, click here.

NON-CONFERENCE SLATE

Mason will open their 2021 season in Fairfax, Va. at the Recreation Athletic Complex (RAC) for their first pair of matches against Ball State (Jan. 22-23) at Noon ET. The Patriots will host Southern Virginia (Jan. 29) and Barton (Jan. 30) the following weekend to wrap up non-conference play.

EIVA PLAY

The Green & Gold begin EIVA conference play with a pair of home games against Charleston (W.Va.) (Feb. 5-6).

After the six-game homestand, Mason hits the road to play Sacred Heart on Feb. 13-14 (1 p.m. starts) and return to the RAC on Feb. 19-20 to play Saint Francis (Pa.).

Penn State hosts the Patriots on Feb. 26-27. The 11th ranked Nittany Lions finished last season with an 11-8 (7-0 EIVA) record, finishing first in the EIVA before the season was ended abruptly due to the spread of COVID-19.

Mason will then play host to NJIT (March 5-6) to begin the month of March, then travel to West Virginia to battle EIVA foe Charleston (W.Va) (March 12-13).

To close out the month of March, the Green & Gold welcome Sacred Heart to The RAC on March 19-20, then travel to Loretto, Pa. to compete against Saint Francis on March 26-27.

The Patriots finish up the regular season schedule with two home games against No. 11 Penn State (April 2-3), followed by two road games in New Jersey against NJIT (April 9-10).

SENIOR NIGHT

The 15th ranked Patriots will host the 11th ranked Nittany Lions on Saturday, April 3, at 7 p.m. inside The RAC for Mason's 2021 Senior Night.
