Darryl Monroe Re-Signs with Maccabi Rishon Le-Zion

FAIRFAX, Va. – Former George Mason University men's basketball forward Darryl Monroe has signed a contract play the 2020-21 season with Maccabi Rishon Le-Zion in Israel.
 
In the Israeli Winner League, Monroe averaged 10.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.3 steals in 27 games for Maccabi Rishon this past season. He added 10.3 points/contest in Eurocup action.
 
Monroe played two seasons for the Patriots from 2006-09 and tallied career averages of 8.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest. Monroe earned second-team All-CAA accolades in 2009 after averaging 10.5 points and 7.7 rebounds while leading the team to an NIT berth. He still ranks fifth all time in Mason annals in career field goal percentage (.569).
 
Monroe enters his 12th season of professional basketball while putting together an impressive career which has included stints in France, Italy, Spain and South Korea, among others. He has been a part of three championship teams, was named the Israeli League MVP and Final Four MVP in 2016, and earned an All-Star spot with Boulazac Basket Dordogne in France (2013).
