FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason women's basketball head coach Nyla Milleson has announced the addition of Georgia Tech graduate transfer Daijah Jefferson for the 2020-21 season.

Jefferson, a native of Hopewell, Va., spent the last three seasons at Georgia Tech. She will enroll in graduate school at George Mason and is eligible to play immediately. She has two years of eligibility remaining with the Patriots beginning in the 2020-21 campaign.

"We are thrilled that Daijah is a Patriot," said Milleson. "It's always exciting when a local player comes back home. Daijah's size, athleticism and experience playing in the ACC will surely impact our team over the next two years that she is in the Green & Gold."

A 6-foot-2 forward, Jefferson played in 44 games in two seasons at Georgia Tech, scoring a career-high 14 points against Western Carolina during her freshman season. She was a two-time ACC Academic Honor Roll selection.

Nationally ranked No. 56 by ESPN, Jefferson was a McDonald's All-America nominee in high school. She led Hopewell High School to conference, district and region championships in 2017. She was named First Team All-State as well as the 2017 Conference and Regional Player of the Year.
