FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason University men's basketball team wraps up the regular season Saturday with a matinee at Fordham.

Tip-off in the Bronx is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+. In addition, Bill Rohland will call the game on the GoMason Digital Network, with streaming coverage beginning at 1:45 p.m.

PATRIOT POINTS
* The Patriots are coming off a 69-57 loss to Saint Louis on Wednesday night in Mason's home finale. The Green & Gold were doomed by a 20-3 SLU run in which the Patriots made two field goals in a 14-minute stretch.

* Mason shot 38.5 percent for the game (20-52). The Patriots are now 2-10 when shooting below 40 percent this season and 13-5 when shooting at a 40 percent clip or above.

* Patriot foes are averaging just 7.3 offensive rebounds/game over the past three contests. Mason limited SLU (ranked 18th nationally with 12.67/game) to 10. Mason has held its opponent to 10 offensive boards or less in 12 of the past 14 games.

* Jordan Miller led Mason in scoring for the second straight game, dropping in 13 points and five rebounds (4 offensive) against the Billikens. Josh Oduro added 10 points (4-7 FG).

* Oduro is averaging 10.5 points, 2.0 blocks and shooting 64.3 percent (9-14) over the past two games.

* Mason has posted a 3-11 record since 2019 A-10 Most Improved Player Justin Kier re-fractured his foot on Jan. 14.

* AJ Wilson has played through foul trouble extraordinarily well this season, but he has fouled out in each of the past two games (16.5 minutes/game). He had previously fouled out just one time in his career during a Dec. 9, 2017 contest vs. NC Central.

* In 10 road games this season, Wilson leads the Patriots in scoring (12.6 ppg) and chips in 2.9 blocks per game.

* Junior Javon Greene is ranked 58th nationally this season with 1.8 steals/game. He needs just two more steals to move into a tie for eighth place on the Mason all-time single season steals list.

* Freshman point guard Xavier Johnson is averaging 1.5 steals per game in A-10 games, which ranks ninth in the conference. He has posted two steals in each of the past five games for the Patriots.

HISTORY vs. FORDHAM
Saturday's matchup marks the 11th all-time meeting between Mason and Fordham. The Rams hold a 7-3 advantage in the series, although the Patriots have won three of the past four matchups. The Rams hold a 3-0 edge in the Bronx. Mason earned its first ever A-10 Tournament win over Fordham with an 82-71 overtime victory in Pittsburgh on March 9, 2017. This past season, Mason erased a nine-point deficit with 5:25 to play to earn a 71-68 victory in Fairfax on Jan. 19, 2019. The Green & Gold closed the game on a 16-4 run, including a key 3-pointer from Ian Boyd and six points from Otis Livingston II. That included the final 3-pointer with just four tenths of a second remaining to give Mason the buzzer-beating win.

A LOOK AT THE RAMS (8-21, 2-15 A-10; NET No. 251, KenPom No. 249)
Fordham was predicted to finish 14th in the 2019-20 A-10 preseason poll and is in that position with one game to go. The Rams feature the 41st nationally ranked field-goal defense (.401), which also ranks No. 1 in the A-10. Fordham won its second conference game against George Washington on Wednesday. The Rams are without star Chuba Ohams and are instead led by Jalen Cobb, who has started the most games on the team with 23. He is a capable scorer (10.3 ppg). Antwon Portley also contributes with his scoring (10.4 ppg), while Joel Soriano leads the team in rebounds (6.3 rpg).

UP NEXT
Mason opens the A-10 Tournament Wednesday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. The Patriots will play as either the No. 11 or No. 12 seed in the championship, depending on Saturday's results:

Mason will be the No. 11 seed with a win AND a La Salle loss (3:30 p.m. game Wednesday vs. No. 14 seed)
Mason will be the No. 12 seed with a loss OR a La Salle win (1 p.m.  game  Wednesday vs. No. 13 seed)
