FAIRFAX, Va. – Junior guard Nicole Cardaño-Hillary was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team, the league announced Thursday.
In addition, senior
Sarah Kaminski was tabbed to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team.
Cardaño-Hillary, a junior from Madrid, Spain, ranks second in the conference in scoring (18.3) and first in steals per game (2.2). She recorded 27 double-digit scoring performances this season, including 20-plus points 11 times.
The 5-foot-7 guard also added three double-doubles in 2019-20 – the firsts of her career. She posted 16 pts/10 rebs vs. Rhode Island; 17 pts/10 rebs vs. UMass; and 19 pts/10 rebs vs. GW. In conference play only, she ranks second in scoring (17.9) and 20th in rebounds per game (5.6).
Earlier this week, Cardaño-Hillary became Mason's all-time leading scorer, passing Keri Chaconas (1992-96) with 1,747 points. She now has 1,766 career points with one season to go in her storied career.
Cardaño-Hillary ranks fourth in 3-pointers made (159), fifth in steals (216) and 10th in assists (292) in Mason history. She's the only player in program annals to rank in the top-five in scoring, 3-pt field goals made and steals.
Kaminski, a senior from Plymouth, Minn., was named to the A-10 All-Academic Team for the second consecutive season. The criminology major boasts a 4.0 GPA, is a three-time George Mason Provost Scholar Athlete and was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team in 2018-19.
Kaminski finished her career ranking third in program history with 173 3-pointers made. She also ranks 20th in assists (197) and is tied for 38th in rebounds (376).
This marks the third straight year the Patriots have had a player on the A-10 All-Academic Team.
The Patriots' season ended on Tuesday with a 69-61 loss to Saint Louis in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Championships. Mason finished with a 9-21 record and 3-13 mark in A-10 play.
