Howie-in-the-Hills, Fla. – The Patriots' golf team's final round was its best in the three-round Orlando Invitational leading to a fifth-place finish.
Freshman
Hayden Miller turned in his best round of the tournament, a two-under-par 70, to finish t-9 at the 54-hole tournament. Miller continues to have a tremendous rookie season, leading the Patriots for the fourth time in six tournaments.
Miller carded five birdies in the final round, including four in the first six holes and was three-under-par on the front nine. He was minus-5 after 13 holes, a bogey and a double-bogey on the last two holes dropped him back.
Sophomore
JP Miller scored a two-over-par in the final round to finish in the t-18 overall. He was four-over-par after a bogey on the par 4 13
th hole but posted two birdies on the final five holes.
Wright State held onto its 10-stroke two-round lead over both Youngstown State and Illinois- Wesleyan to finish as Orlando Invitational Champions. The Raiders finished 13 strokes ahead of second place Illinois-Wesleyen.
Wright State's Tyler Goecke carded a one-over par 71 today to catch Youngstown State's Ken Keller, who led by two strokes after two rounds, to tie for the individual championship.
The Patriots will finish spring break hosting the Mission Inn Spectacular, Saturday and Sunday at the same resort.
