FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's basketball team returns home for its Homecoming game on Wednesday against Richmond.
Tip-off is schedule for 7 p.m. inside EagleBank Arena. Wednesday's game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN+, with commentary by
Steve Kolbe. In addition, Shawn Ouellette will call the game on the GoMason Digital Network, with pre-game coverage beginning at 6:50 p.m.
PATRIOT POINTS
* With George Washington holding a two-point lead with 19.8 seconds left (59-57), Mason's final field goal attempt was no good as the Colonials held on for the victory, 62-57, on Saturday afternoon.
* Junior Nicole Cardaño-Hillary led the Patriots with game highs in points (19) and rebounds (10).
* Junior
Marika Korpinen added 18 points, tying her career high in three-pointers (4). She shot 45.5 percent (5-11) from the floor and 57.1 percent (4-7) from deep. She earned a spot on the A-10 weekly honor roll for her performance.
* Korpinen has started the last nine games, finishing in double figures in five of the contests. She's averaging 9.9 points and 3.9 rebounds during the stretch.
* Cardaño-Hillary has recorded double-doubles in three of the last four games: 16 pts/10 rebs vs. Rhode Island; 17 pts/10 rebs vs. UMass; and 19 pts/10 rebs vs. GW.
* With a team-high 19 points vs. GW, Cardaño-Hillary is one point shy of a third-place tie with Jenanne Daunoras (1980-84) with 1,665 career points.
* Cardaño-Hillary is second in the Atlantic 10 in scoring (17.8 ppg). Forward
Camarie Gatling is second in the A-10 in field goal percentage (.522) and is third on the team in scoring, averaging 8.4 points per game.

Jacy Bolton is tied 10th in the A-10 with 6.3 rebounds per game, and second on the team in points per game (9.0).
* Cardaño-Hillary is the only player in program history to rank in the top-5 all-time in scoring (1,664), 3-pt field goals made (147) and steals (204).
* Bolton sits eighth on Mason's all-time rebounding list with 707 boards. She's 20 rebounds shy of a seventh-place tie with Jerolyn Weathersby (1987-91) with 727.
* When scoring more than 70 points, Mason is 6-1. In wins, they are averaging 70.9 points while allowing just 59.8 points a game.
* Cardaño-Hillary has scored in double figures in 22-of-25 games this season and posted 20+ points in eight games. She has scored 30+ points in her career five times - the fifth most in school history.
* Mason is on a stretch of its A-10 schedule in which the Patriots play three of four games on the road.
* Mason ranks first in the A-10 in offensive rebounds (14.8). In A-10 games only, the Patriots are first in offensive rebounds per game (14.1) and are +41 in total offensive rebounds (169-128) and +23 in total rebounds (462-439).
SERIES HISTORY
One of Mason's most frequent opponents, Richmond holds a 35-25 lead in the all-time series. The Patriots have won three of the last four after the Spiders had won the previous eight meetings. The two teams played in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) until Richmond left after the 2000-01 season.
Last year, Mason defeated Richmond 67-52 on Feb. 21, 2019 in Richmond, Va. Five players scored in double figures for the Patriots, including Richmond products Gatling and
Alexsis Grate, who combined for 25 points in the victory.
SCOUTING RICHMOND
Richmond fell to the Atlantic 10 defending champions Fordham 64-47 on Sunday at the Robins Center. Richmond (12-14, 5-7 A-10) shot 37.8 percent from the field and hit 6-for-14 from the three-point line but committed 27 turnovers in the loss.
The Spiders have three players averaging double-figure scoring; Claire Holt (10.8 ppg); Jaide Hinds-Clarke (10.7 ppg) and Kate Klimkiewica (10.0 ppg).
Richmond has won two of its last three games to currently sit ninth in league standings with an A-10 record of 5-7.
