FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University men's basketball game versus fifth-ranked Dayton on Tuesday, February 25, will feature a series of in-game elements to honor Black African Heritage Month, in conjunction with the university's month-long celebration.
Mason Athletics' first-ever game which honors Black African Heritage Month will feature a halftime performance from Lights Out! Stomp and Shake as well as the pre-game singing of Lift Every Voice and Sing by the AVU Praise Team.
The EagleBank Arena concourse also will feature a digital Martin Luther King, Jr., exhibit created by Michael Cardacino.
In addition, the Patriots will wear pre-game shooting shirts and sneakers which honor the Tuskegee Airmen, the first black military aviators in the U.S. Army Air Corps (AAC), a precursor of the U.S. Air Force.
