SERIES HISTORY
The former CAA rivals will be meeting for the first time since 2013, and for the 75th time in program annals. JMU leads the all-time series 54-20. The Patriots look to snap an 18-game losing streak to the Dukes and claim their first win since 2005.

SCOUTING JMU
James Madison used a dominant second quarter and held off a fourth-quarter charge from Virginia to earn a 71-67 win on Thursday and move to 2-1 overall. Freshman Jamia Hazell paced JMU with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting (66.7 percent) including an 80 percent clip (4-of-5) from long distance. Sophomore Kiki Jefferson followed behind with 16 points on 50 percent shooting (5-of-10) to go along with eight rebounds, a career-high tying four assists and a steal.

Hazell was named CAA Rookie of the Week on Monday after scoring a game-high 18 points on 43.7 percent (7-of-16) shooting from the field against Mount St. Mary's. JMU has taken home the Rookie of the Week honor in five of the last six opportunities dating back to last season.

JMU was selected to finish first in the Colonial Athletic Association by a vote of the league's head coaches. The Dukes received six first-place votes for a total of 76 points. The Dukes have six new faces in four freshmen - Annalicia Goodman, Peyton McDaniel, Jamia Hazell and Steph Ouderkirk; and two graduate transfers - Anne Diouf (Georgia Tech) and Morgan Smith (Georgetown).  They also return 2019-20 CAA Rookie of the Year Jefferson who earned the CAA Rookie of the Week nod nine times and posted 9.8 points per game.

LAST TIME OUT
