FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University men's basketball redshirt-senior guard Ian Boyd will take a leave of absence from the program for personal reasons, head coach Dave Paulsen announced Thursday. 
 
Boyd has seen action in 95 career games in a Patriot uniform and made 17 starts. The Apex, N.C., product graduated from George Mason in May with a degree in integrative studies. 
 
"Ian has meant so much to our program during his career," Paulsen said. "Our players and coaches love and care for him deeply. We are behind Ian during this time and will offer him as much support as we can."
