Men's Basketball 11/10/2020 10:27:00 AM
FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's and women's basketball teams will be able to have a limited number of fans in EagleBank Arena for basketball games after consultation with University leadership. Mason Athletics' plan for a return of Patriots basketball will follow the guidelines from the university and state health officials regarding the latest developments on the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

As we have developed this plan, our guiding principle has been to support the health, safety, and well-being of the Mason community. Face coverings that meet CDC guidelines will be required at all times in EagleBank Arena. The limited number of fans, including students, allow for proper social distance markers throughout the arena, assign seating in pods, and delegated entrances to minimize traffic upon entry.

Ticketing for the basketball games will be strictly digital. The transition exclusively to mobile ticketing adds convenience for season ticket holders, while also allowing for contactless entry to EagleBank Arena.

Information on how to purchase tickets will be available later this week.

The Patriots' men's and women's basketball teams will play a combined eight home matchups as part of the Patriots' 2020-21 non-conference schedule.

The men's basketball team will play a regionalized non-conference schedule with three home games against programs from Baltimore, Md. The 2020-21 home slate begins with a matchup against Morgan State on Dec. 8, Coppin State travels to Fairfax for a game on Dec. 16, and the Patriots will face former CAA foe Towson on Dec. 22.

The Patriots' women's basketball team is scheduled to host five non-conference games beginning with Navy on Nov. 29. In-state Longwood will travel north for a game on Dec. 1 at EagleBank Arena before the Patriots host Georgetown on Dec. 13. The Patriots will finish the non-conference home slate against the SEC's Ole Miss (Dec. 19) and Delaware State (Dec. 21).
