FAIRFAX, Va. – Former George Mason women's basketball center
Natalie Butler has signed a contract to play with Pas Giannina in Ioannina, Greece.
Butler enters her third season of professional basketball with previous stops in Belgium and most recently Romania. Last season, she played appeared in 15 games, averaging 7.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.
Butler earned Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America honors in her lone season with the Patriots as she led the country in rebounding (16.6 rpg) and double-doubles (33).
The Atlantic 10 Player of the Year set the NCAA record for rebounds in a season with 563 and tied the all-time record with 33 double-doubles. She also set the program's single-season scoring record with 653 points and her 563 rebounds are 16th-most all-time in program history.
The Fairfax Station, Va., native anchored a Patriots' squad in 2017-18 that set a school record for wins (24), finished fourth in the Atlantic 10, made the WNIT for the first time in 14 years and won a postseason game for the first time in program history.
Butler became the first Mason player in program history to be drafted when she was taken 30th overall by the Dallas Wings in the 2018 WNBA Draft.
