Editor's Note: GoMason.com will be profiling the George Mason University women's volleyball freshman class. This week, we have middle blocker Brianna Jackson.
Freshman
Brianna Jackson joins the Patriots from Port Saint Lucie, Fla., where she was a four-year varsity letterwinner in volleyball. The talented middle blocker was named Rookie of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player during her playing career at Fort Pierce Central. She led her team to back-to-back district championships in 2018 and 2019.
When did you first start playing volleyball?
I started playing travel club volleyball in Florida when I was 10 years old.
What is your earliest volleyball memory? What is your favorite volleyball memory?
My earliest memory would be playing at The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the age of 12. My favorite volleyball memories are winning back-to-back district championships in high school and being Most Valuable Player my senior year.
What is your favorite thing about being a volleyball player?
I love working with my teammates to compete, win and have fun.
Why did you choose to continue your athletic and academic career at George Mason?
I visited many schools but George Mason was the only school that checked every box for me! It has everything I wanted in a school, coach and teammates.
Who are your role models?
I would say my parents, my principal Mrs. Buchanan, my teachers and coaches are my role models. In volleyball, I look up to Taylor Morgan and Regan Pittman from Minnesota.
What is your major and why did you choose it?
My major is business marketing because I would like to become an art director in the advertising or entertainment industry.
When I'm not playing volleyball, my favorite thing to do is?
I enjoy going to the beach, playing tennis, skating and watching movies.
My favorite book, movie, TV show or podcast is?
"All American" and "The Walking Dead" are my favorite TV shows. "The Princess and the Frog" is my favorite movie.
Any pre-match rituals?
I listen to music before every game.

I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to Florida when I was five. I have two brothers, David and Pierre.
