FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason women's basketball junior guard Nicole Cardaño-Hillary was named the College Sports Madness Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Monday. 

Cardaño-Hillary averaged 21.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in a 2-0 week for the Patriots including their conference-opening win against George Washington.

The Madrid, Spain native scored a game-high 25 points to go along with eight rebounds, five assists and three steals in a 59-58 win over SMU on Dec. 31 in Dallas, Texas. She shot 42.9 percent (3-7) from the three-point range and 36.0 percent (9-25) from the floor. She added seven straight points in the final two minutes of play to help Mason overcome an eight-point, fourth-quarter deficit.

She scored 18 points while adding eight rebounds and three assists in Mason's 70-60 win vs. George Washington. She shot 50.0 percent (4-8) from behind the arc and 40.0 percent (6-15) from the field.

Cardaño-Hillary and the Patriots travel to Dayton for their A-10 road opener on Wednesday, Jan. 8. Tip-off between the Patriots and Flyers is scheduled for 7 p.m. at UD Arena.
