PATRIOT POINTS
• The Patriots are coming off a 73-63 triumph over UMass Wednesday. Mason limited the Minutemen to 39.3 percent shooting and held a +13 (45-32) edge on the glass.

• Junior Javon Greene put together another sensational performance against UMass, tallying a game-high 32 points (9-17 FG) to go along with seven rebounds. He also made a career high 13 free throws on 16 attempts.

• In Mason's previous game vs. Richmond (Jan. 18), Greene's 39-point effort marked a new EagleBank Arena scoring record for a Mason men's player.

• Greene is averaging a remarkable 35.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals while shooting 61.5 percent (24-39) over the past two games. It marks the first back-to-back 30-point games by a Patriot since Donald Ross in December 1993.

• With his Richmond effort, Greene became one of just 10 players nationally since 2010-11 to post a line of at least 39 points/5 steals/4 assists/4 rebounds. That group includes Ben Simmons (LSU) and Marcus Smart (Oklahoma St).

• In the game against UMass, Mason also received strong contributions from a pair of freshmen. Point guard Xavier Johnson tallied 11 points, five rebounds and a team-high three assists, while forward Josh Oduro chipped in a personal-best 11 points in a career high 27 minutes.

• Johnson is averaging 10.5 points, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals in an expanded 37.0 minutes over the past two games, as he helps boost the Patriots in the absence of 2019 A-10 Most Improved Player Justin Kier (foot fracture) and talented point guard Jamal Hartwell II (illness).

• Forward AJ Wilson is third in the nation in blocks/game (3.4). He is fourth on Mason's all-time blocks list (137) and his 65 blocks in 2019-20 are second-most in single-season school history. He needs just 13 more blocks to overtake George Evans (1998-99) for the top spot.

• Wilson leads Mason with 15.0 points/game in road games this season He also averages 7.3 rebounds and 3.5 blocks in games away from EagleBank Arena.

• The Patriots rank third in the A-10 in league games with 8.3 steals per contest. In addition, after being out-rebounded in the first three A-10 games (-13.6 average margin), the Patriots have held the rebounding edge in each of the past three (+6.7 average margin).

• Greene leads the A-10 in scoring in league play (20.0 ppg). He is shooting 41 percent (16-39) from 3-point range in six A-10 games and averaging a team-high 3.3 assists/contest (10th in A-10). In league games, he is third in the conference in steals/game (2.5).

• Patriot opponents shot just 62.1 percent from the free throw line in non-conference play. In A-10 games, Patriot foes are at 76.5 percent from the charity stripe.

• Four of Mason's next five games are on the road.
