PATRIOT POINTS
* Last time out, Mason fell 97-87 to Richmond Wednesday night. The Patriots shot 54 percent for the game, but the Spiders made a sizzling 67.3 percent of their attempts en route to victory.
* Junior
Javon Greene put together a historic performance against the Spiders. The McDonough, Ga., product exploded for a career-best 39 points (15-22 FG), made five 3-pointers, tallied a season-best five steals and dished out four assists in 39 minutes of action.
* His 39-point effort marked a new EagleBank Arena scoring record for a Mason men's player. The previous high of 34 was set by Sherrod Wright (2/19/14 vs. SLU) and Jason Miskiri (2/20/99 vs. American).
* Greene is one of just 10 players since 2010-11 to post a line of at least 39 points/5 steals/4 assists/4 rebounds. That group includes Ben Simmons (LSU) and Marcus Smart (Oklahoma St).
* Redshirt-junior
AJ Wilson matched his career high with 19 points (7-11 FG) and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds against the Spiders. Wilson is averaging 17.7 points, 9.0 rebounds and shooting 52.4 percent over the past three games.
* Sophomore
Jordan Miller (12 points vs. UR) has now scored 10+ points in four of five A-10 games. He leads the league in 3-point field goal percentage (.472, 25-53).
* Wilson is third in the nation in blocks/game (3.56). He is fourth on Mason's all-time blocks list (136) and his 64 blocks in 2019-20 ranks t-2nd in single season history. With one more block, he will pass Mike Morrison and move into solo second on the single-season ledger.
* Greene is shooting 42.9 percent (15-35) from 3-point range in A-10 play and averaging a team-high 3.6 assists/contest. In league games, he is second in the A-10 in steals/game (2.8).
* The Patriots rank third in the A-10 in league games with 8.6 steals per contest.
