FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's basketball team wraps up a two-game homestand against Fordham on Sunday.
 
Tip-off between the Patriots and Rams is scheduled for 4 p.m. inside EagleBank Arena. Sunday's game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network, with commentary by Alex Del Barrio and Steffi Sorensen. In addition, Shawn Ouellette will call the game on the GoMason Digital Network, with pre-game coverage beginning at 3:50 p.m.
 
PATRIOTS POINTS
* After earning a 70-60 win over GW in its conference opener on Jan. 4, Mason (7-10, 1-3 A-10) has dropped its last three conference matchups.
 
* After trailing by as many as 17, the Patriots pulled within five with under two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter (68-63), before eventually falling to Davidson 76-69 on Wednesday.
 
* The Patriots shot a season-high 50.9 percent (28-55) from the floor, but the Wildcats scored 26 points off Mason's 16 turnovers. The Wildcats finished with a 43.1 percent (28-65) mark from the field and only committed nine giveaways.
 
* Earning her first start since Dec. 21, junior Marika Korpinen ignited for a career-high 20 points. She notched personal bests in field goals made (6) and three-point field goals made (4), while also going 4-of-5 from the free throw line.
 
* With a team-high 22 points, junior Nicole Cardaño-Hillary became just the sixth player in program history to surpass 1,500 points in their career. She added seven rebounds, five assists and four steals in the loss.
 
* Senior Jacy Bolton became the 20th player in program history to score 1,000 points in their career after scoring eight points at SMU (Dec. 31). 
 
* Sunday's matchup will feature two of the league's top scorers – Cardaño-Hillary and Fordham's Bre Cavanaugh. The duo is tied for second in the Atlantic 10 in scoring (17.5 ppg).
 
* Forward Camarie Gatling is second in the A-10 in field goal percentage (.529) and second on the team in points per game (9.7).
 
* Bolton is ninth in the A-10 with 6.9 rebounds per game, and is third on the team, averaging 9.4 points per game.
 
* Bolton surpassed 600 career rebounds with six boards against Bradley (Nov. 29). She now sits eighth all-time with 666 rebounds. 
 
* Cardaño-Hillary began the season 14th all-time in Mason program history in scoring with 1,218 points. With a career-high 41 points at Penn State (Nov. 24), the junior guard cracked the top-10. In Wednesday's game vs. Davidson, Cardaño-Hillary moved into 6th place overall (1,515).
 
* The Patriots boast a 5-1 record when scoring 70+ points in a contest.  In wins, they are averaging 70.6 points while allowing just 60.3 points a game. Conversely, in losses, they are averaging just 56.2 points while surrendering 67.8 a game.
 
* Mason ranks first in the A-10 in offensive rebounds per game (14.4).
 
* Mason ranks fourth in the A-10 in steals per game (7.12), with Cardaño-Hillary ranking first in the league with 2.2 spg.
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Patriots are looking for their first win over Fordham since 2008, and their first win over the Rams since joining the A-10 in 2013-14. The Rams have won six straight in the series for a 7-3 all-time lead. Mason suffered a 64-53 loss last February in the Bronx despite three players scoring in double figures. The Patriots are 2-3 against the Rams at EagleBank Arena.
 
SCOUTING FORDHAM
After starting the year off 0-4, the Rams have won 10 of their last 12 contests, including seven straight. The Rams most recently defeated George Washington, 53-47, in a highly contested matchup on Sunday in the Bronx.
 
Cavanaugh leads the Rams averaging 17.5 points per game. She has scored in double figures in all but two games this season and has earned A-10 Player of the Week honors twice. She averages 6.3 rebounds per game, second behind teammate Kendall Heremaia (8.6 rpg).
 
Last year, Fordham won its second-ever Atlantic 10 championship and a share of its first-ever league regular season championship, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in program history. The Rams won a program-record 13 Atlantic 10 games. The Rams were picked to finish third in the preseason coaches' poll for a second consecutive year.
 
UP NEXT
Mason travels to Pittsburgh, Pa., to take on Duquesne Wednesday at 7 p.m. Due to arena renovations, the game will be played at La Roche University's Kerr Fitness Center.
