FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason University men's basketball team (12-4, 1-2) will cross the Potomac Wednesday for a Revolutionary Rivalry matchup with George Washington in Foggy Bottom.
Tip-off between the Patriots and Colonials is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+. In addition, Bill Rohland will call the game on the GoMason Digital Network, with streaming coverage beginning at 6:45 p.m.
PATRIOT POINTS
• Mason snapped a three-game skid Saturday afternoon with a 76-63 win at La Salle. The Patriots shot 53.6 percent in the second half and used a 22-0 run to break away from the Explorers and claim victory.
• The La Salle win continues a trend of road performance for the Patriots in A-10 play. Mason has averaged 4.7 league road wins in the past three seasons, including a school-record five A-10 away triumphs in 2018-19.
• After shooting 48.1 percent overall at La Salle, Mason is now 11-0 this season when shooting 40 percent or better from the floor.

Justin Kier led the Green & Gold with season highs in points (18) and minutes (39), while
Javon Greene (16 pts, 7 reb, 3 ast),
AJ Wilson (16 pts, 8 reb, 3 blk) and
Jordan Miller (13 pts, career-best 4 stl) also hit double figures.
• In A-10 play, Kier is averaging team highs in scoring (13.3 points/game) and minutes (34.6 minutes/game) and is shooting 40 percent from 3-point range.
• Greene is shooting 42.1 percent (8-19) from 3-point range in A-10 play and averaging a team-high 3.3 assists/contest. In league games, he is 4th in the A-10 in 3pt FG made/game (2.7).
• Mason is shooting a much-improved 37.2 percent (16-43) from 3-point range over the past two games while averaging 8.0 3pt FG made per game. In the four games prior, the Patriots had shot a combined 27.2 percent (22-81) from deep while averaging 5.5 3-pointers per contest.
• Prior to the TCU game on Dec. 30, the Patriots averaged a +5.4 rebounding margin. Over the past four games (1-3), Mason's average is -12.7.
• Wilson is third in the nation in blocks/game (3.63). He is fourth on Mason's all-time blocks list (130) and his 58 blocks in 2019-20 ranks third in single season history.
HISTORY vs. GEORGE WASHINGTON
Wednesday's game will mark the 26th all-time meeting in the Revolutionary Rivalry and the first matchup between the schools.George Mason and George Washington are separated by just 20 miles and are situated on the same DC Metro line (Orange). GW holds a 19-6 advantage in the series and is 9-4 in A-10 games against the Patriots. However, Mason has won the past four matchups between the schools. The Green & Gold swept all three meetings this season, including a 62-55 win in Fairfax on Jan. 26, an 81-65 triumph in Foggy Bottom on March 9 and a 61-57 victory on March 14 in the first round of the A-10 Tournament in Brooklyn.
Justin Kier averaged 16.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 5.3 assists while shooting 50 percent (18-36) in the three meetings in 2018-19.
A LOOK AT THE COLONIALS (6-10, 0-3 A-10; NET No. 242, KenPom No. 239)
George Washington was picked to finish 13th out of 14 teams in the 2019-20 Atlantic 10 preseason poll. The Colonials are 0-3 to begin conference play, but all three losses (St. Bonaventure, at Saint Louis, Duquesne) came by just five points. Redshirt-senior Armel Potter leads GW with 13.8 points per game and is 35th nationally with 5.6 assists per contest. Freshman Jamison Battle adds 12.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, while Maceo Jack (10.2 ppg) and Jameer Nelson Jr. (10.1 ppg) also average 10+ points for the Colonials.
ACTIVATING SUCCESS IN THE ATLANTIC 10
Over the last three seasons, George Mason has become one of the most consistent programs in the A-10. The Patriots are one of just four programs to post a league record of .500 or better in each of the past three campaigns. The other programs are Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure and VCU. Mason has averaged 9.7 A-10 wins over the past three seasons. The Patriots averaged 4.3 conference victories over their first three seasons in the league.
