OLEAN, N.Y. – George Mason women's basketball ran into a sharp-shooting St. Bonaventure team on Sunday afternoon in the Reilly Center, falling to the Bonnies 62-47 in Olean, N.Y. The Patriots drop to 7-9 overall and 1-2 in Atlantic 10 play while the Bonnies earned their first conference win to sit at 4-12 overall, 1-2 in the A-10.
Mason struggled offensively and finished with a 30.0 percent mark (15-50) from the floor. The Patriots made 5-of-16 three-point attempts (.313).
St. Bonaventure shot 43.1 percent (22-51) from the field and finished with 10 three-pointers (.370). Dajah Logan led the Bonnies with a game-high 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting.
Nine Patriots scored in Sunday's contest, but Mason failed to have a player in double figures for the first time this season. Freshman
Tamia Lawhorne finished with a team-high eight points and five rebounds.

Alexsis Grate provided a lift off the bench, chipping in six points apiece.
It was a low scoring affair to begin the game with Mason holding a slim 5-3 advantage at the media timeout. SBU used a 5-0 spurt to take its first lead of the game with 2:51 on the clock (8-5). Junior Nicole Cardaño-Hillary then scored back-to-back baskets to cut the deficit to one (10-9). The Bonnies knocked down a jump shot at the buzzer to lead after one quarter of play (15-14).
St. Bonaventure opened the second quarter on a 9-2 run over the first three minutes (24-16). Grate halted the SBU spurt with a three-pointer, followed by a free throw by freshman
Jazmyn Doster (24-20). The Bonnies then hit three straight three-pointers to finish the second quarter on a 14-3 run. The Patriots were outscored 23-9 in the period to trail by 15 at the break (38-23).
SBU shot a blistering 66.7 percent (8-12) from the floor during the second quarter and made 4-of-6 3-pointers.
That lead proved to be too much for the Patriots to overcome, as Mason could not move closer than 12 (57-45) for the remainder of the game.
The Patriots return home to host Davidson on Wednesday, Jan. 15. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside EagleBank Arena.
