FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's volleyball team opens Atlantic 10 play at George Washington on Saturday at the Charles E. Smith Center in Washington, D.C. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Mason begins conference play with three straight road matches. The Patriots travel to La Salle (Oct. 4) and Duquesne (Oct. 6) before returning to Fairfax for their A-10 home opener against Dayton on Oct. 11.
Mason picked up its first sweep of the season with a straight-set win over William & Mary at the Mason Invitational last weekend (Sept. 21). Sophomore
Siron Hardy put down 15 kills at a personal-best .344 clip while sophomore
Erin Derick dished out 35 assists. Derick was named to the Mason Invite All-Tournament Team after averaging 12.00 assists and 2.56 digs per set.

SCOUTING THE COLONIALS
George Washington
The Colonials enter league play with an overall record of 6-7. GW recently went 1-2 at the Creeds & Crests Classic, hosted by Texas State in San Marcos, Texas, on Sept. 20-21.
Senior Skylar Iott leads the offensive attack with 3.36 kills and 3.90 points per set. Senior setter Jaimeson Lee has notched All-Tournament honors three times this season, dishing out 8.40 assists per set to go along with 2.67 digs per set.
Last season, Mason earned its first-ever win over George Washington as part of the Atlantic 10 Conference. It also marked the first win over the Colonials since 2007.
