FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason senior midfielder
Ryan Mingachos scored the equalizer in the final seconds of the match to force overtime, but the Patriots fell to Gardner-Webb, 3-2, on Saturday night at George Mason Stadium.
Gardner-Webb (3-3-1) took the lead over Mason (1-6-0) when junior forward Oskar Wang scored his fith goal of the season, netting the lone goal of the first half in the sixth minute to put the Runnin' Bulldogs in front 1-0.
Mason responded early in the second half when senior midfielder
Raheem Lawal scored his first goal of the season, finding the back of the net in the 48th minute to tie the match, 1-1. Senior forward
Tunde Akinlosotu picked up the assist.
The Runnin' Bulldogs regained the advantage in the 73rd minute, with freshman midfielder Hendrik Kortgodde scoring his first goal of the season to make it a 2-1 game.
With time winding down, Akinlosotu found some room on the right side and spotted Mingachos, who tied the match with his third goal of the season. Mason senior defender

In overtime, Gardner-Webb freshman forward Jorge Salgado tallied the game-winning goal in the 95th minute of play, scoring his fourth goal of the season into the lower left to propel the Runnin' Bulldogs to the 3-2 victory.
Each of the two all-time meetings between the two clubs has gone to overtime.
Mason sophomore goalkeeper
Brison Moorhead made his Mason debut and made three saves. Gardner-Webb freshman goalkeeper Mallel Rios made five saves in the match for his first collegiate win.
