FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason women's soccer team (2-4-1) defeats Towson (2-5-1) by a score of 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at George Mason Stadium.

The Patriots defense proved to be too much for the Tigers' offensive attack, as Mason earned their first shutout of the season. The Patriots held the opposition to six total shots, two of which were on goal. 

In the 85th minute, Mason's defense stepped up in a big spot, when the Tigers fired a shot on goal and goalkeeper Louis Moser made an impressive save along with a clutch goal line clear by defender Shannon Lee, which proved to be the deciding factor in the contest as Towson did not have another offensive chance after that. 

Redshirt junior Emily Bradshaw earned the lone goal in the contest. Well played balls by both Jisca Adigo and Gabriela Rivera gave Bradshaw the opportunity to record her second goal of the season.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

Mason controlled 52 percent of possession time in the match with 56 percent of that time in the offensive zone. The Patriots ended the contest with a 7-2 advantage over the Tigers in corner kicks.

Moser, who recorded her first start of the season in goal, notched two saves and pitched her fourth career shutout (first of the season for Mason).
