FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason women's soccer team will host Towson on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 1 p.m. inside George Mason Stadium.
This will be the 14th matchup between the two teams, as the Patriots lead the series by a 12-1-0 tally.
Sunday's match will also be final non-conference game for the Patriots, as they head into their Atlantic 10 schedule next Sunday.
In Mason's last outing, the team earned two impressive corner kick goals but could not hold their lead, falling to James Madison by a score of 3-2. The Patriots attempted six total shots (three on goal), while the Dukes had nine total chances (four on goal). Both teams recorded a save each, while the Patriots earned an 8-3 edge in corner kicks, including two goals off of corner chances.
Mason also had possession of the ball for 53 percent of the game, with 56 percent of that time in the offensive zone.
Towson enters Sunday with a 2-4-1 overall record, as their most result came against A-10 foe George Washington on Thursday. The Tigers and the Colonials went 110 minutes and finished the match tied at two goals apiece.
The Tigers' goalkeeper, Lindsey Pazdziorko, earned a season-high 16 saves in the contest, while two of the three team leaders in points, Lexi Littlefield and Jenna Blank, both earned goals in the contest.
The last time the two programs met, the Patriots defeated the Tigers after two overtime periods by a score of 2-1 on Sept. 10, 2017 in Towson, Md.
