FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's basketball team has announced its 2019-20 Atlantic 10 schedule, which features eight home games, three matchups against 2019 postseason tournament teams at EagleBank Arena and a nationally televised contest.
The Atlantic 10 unveiled its conference schedule on Thursday and the Patriots will play one game on national TV – on Jan. 19 against reigning A-10 champion Fordham (CBS Sports Network). The Patriots will play a home-and-home series with Revolutionary Rival George Washington, as well as VCU and La Salle.
Mason opens conference play at home against crosstown foe George Washington on Jan. 4. They then will hit the road for matchups at 2019 WNIT participant Dayton on Jan. 8 and at St. Bonaventure on Jan. 12.
The Patriots return to Fairfax to take on 2019 WBI participant Davidson (Jan. 15) and 2019 NCAA Tournament team Fordham (Jan. 19). The matchup against the Rams will be nationally televised on CBS Sports Network.
After a trip to Duquesne (Jan. 22), Mason will host in-state rival VCU on Jan. 25. The Rams advanced to the second round of the WNIT last season, before falling to Virginia Tech. The Hokies will also visit EagleBank Arena on Nov. 10.
Mason heads to La Salle on Jan. 29, followed by a road trip to Rhode Island on Feb. 1. The Patriots then return to EagleBank Arena to play consecutive home games against UMass (Feb. 5) and Saint Louis (Feb. 9), before making the short trek to George Washington on Feb. 15.
The Patriots cap off the regular-season road schedule with consecutive contests at Saint Joseph's (Feb. 22) and at VCU (Feb. 26). Mason closes out the regular season at home against La Salle on Feb. 29.
