The Patriots Add Defender Kalani Peart

FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason women's soccer team has added a new student-athlete to their roster. First-year player Kalani Peart is the newest member to don the Green and Gold, as she comes to Fairfax, Va. from England.

A 6-foot central defender, Peart enjoyed a decorated career during her time in England, as she trained as a youth player in the Arsenal club system. Peart also represented England at the U19 National Team level and most recently played for Millwall's First Team.

"Getting to know Kalani has been a great experience for our staff because she is a wonderful person," head coach Todd Bramble (@toddbramble) said. "She is a talented player that has an impressive training background and has played at a very high level in England. We are confident she will fit in well with the culture of our team and represent George Mason well on the field and in the classroom."

Peart joins an incoming class of Mason student-athletes that includes Jenna Hutchison (Columbia, Md.), Kaitlyn Butcher (Fredericksburg, Va.), Abigail Gonzalez (Forest, Va.), Grace Hotaling (Delmar, N.Y.) and University of Arkansas transfer Kolbrún Eyjólfsdóttir (Iceland).

The now sophomore will be available to play in the season opener against East Carolina on August 22.
