FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason softball team concludes the regular season with a three-game series against UMass May 4-5 at the George Mason Softball Complex. The two teams will play a doubleheader at 10 a.m. Saturday, followed by a single game on Sunday at noon.

All games will be streamed on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
Mason earned its second straight Atlantic 10 series win, taking two-of-three from St. Bonaventure on April 27-28. The Patriots improved to 21-25 overall and 9-11 in the A-10 with the series win.

SENIOR DAY
Mason will honor its three seniors, Liz Seymour, Jess Curbeira and Victoria Webster, with a pregame ceremony on Sunday, May 5. The Patriots also welcome alumni of the program for a postgame potluck with the team in celebration of Alumni Day.

MARINA MAGIC
For the second consecutive week, redshirt junior Marina Vitalich earned A-10 Pitcher of the Week honors. The San Pedro, Calif., native struck out 20 batters in 16.0 innings of work. She picked up back-to-back complete-game victories over St. Bonaventure to improve to 9-5 overall.

Vitalich ranks fourth in the A-10 in total strikeouts (99) and fifth in ERA (2.69).

SCOUTING THE MINUTEWOMEN
UMass: 24-19, 11-4 A-10
Massachusetts enters the weekend second in Atlantic 10 standings. The Minutewomen recently took two-of-three from first-place Fordham. Since five of its conference games have been canceled due to inclement weather, UMass still sits behind Fordham in league standings despite the series win.

Pitcher Kiara Oliver leads the A-10 with a 2.30 ERA and five saves this season while Quinn Breidenbach has a team-high 11 wins in the circle. Offensively, Katilyn Stavinoha ranks third in the league with a batting average of .397 and sits fifth with 58 hits.

The Patriots were swept by the Minutewomen in a doubleheader last season. The series finale was rained out to conclude the regular season. Mason looks for its first win over UMass since 2015.
