FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason University men's basketball team (16-13, 10-6) returns to EagleBank Arena to host Senior Night on Tuesday vs. VCU (23-6, 14-2).
Tip-off between the Patriots and Rams is set for 7:30 p.m. Mason will honor seniors

Logan Samuels at 7:18 p.m. Tuesday night's game will be televised regionally on Stadium (MASN in the DMV). Matt Martucci (play-by-play) and Dr. John Giannini (color commentary) will provide insight and analysis. In addition, "Voice of the Patriots" Bill Rohland will call the game on the GoMason Digital Network, with streaming coverage beginning at 7:15 p.m.
PATRIOT POINTS
* The Patriots have won 13 of their past 20 A-10 games (.650), although the Green & Gold have dropped three of their past four contests. Mason posted its best A-10 start in program history (7-1).
* The Patriots have 10 A-10 wins for the first time in the program's six seasons in the league. Mason still has two regular season contests remaining.
* Last time out, Mason fell behind 19-3 and ultimately dropped an 81-71 contest at Saint Louis. The Patriots used an 18-3 run in the second half to cut it to four (69-65) with 1:30 to play, but Mason could not convert on a late opportunity to cut the lead to two.
* Freshman guard
Jamal Hartwell II tied a career high with 15 points (4-6 3pt FG) vs. the Billikens, while fellow rookie
Jordan Miller added a career-best 15 points (7-10 FT) and nine rebounds.
* Hartwell II leads the Patriots with 15.0 ppg over the past two contests. He is shooting 60 percent (9-15) from 3-point range. Miller is second on the team with 14.0 points and is grabbing 9.5 rebounds per contest over those two games.
* A total of 56 of Mason's 77 points vs. Richmond came from freshmen and sophomores. They scored 38 of 71 at SLU. Six of Mason's 10 rotational players are underclassmen this season.

Justin Kier is just 34 points away from 1,000 for his career.
* Mason currently sits in a tie for fifth place in the A-10 standings with St. Bonaventure. The Patriots are a game out of third place and a game out of seventh with two contests to go.
* Miller is fifth in the A-10 in field goal percentage in league games (.621) and in offensive rebounds/game (3.3).

Otis Livingston II is the fourth player in Mason history to eclipse the 1800-point plateau. He is the only Patriot to post 100+ assists in all four seasons of a career. The Linden, N.J., product also leads the nation in consecutive starts made (128). The next closest player is Penn State's Lamar Stevens (99). He is Mason's all-time leader in career starts.
* In A-10 play, Mason is fifth in the league in rebounding margin (+3.1). The Patriots have only been outrebounded in one of the previous eight contests.
* Mason is 13-2 in games where the Patriots hold their opponent under 70 points. The Green & Gold are 3-11 when their opponent scores more than 70.
HISTORY vs. VCU
Tuesday's game marks the 61st all-time meeting between old CAA and current A-10 foes George Mason and VCU. Mason is 13-11 at home, 6-22 on the road and 1-7 on neutral courts vs. VCU (20-40 overall). The Rams have won 13 of the past 17 meetings and nine of the 11 games in Atlantic 10 play. The teams split a pair of meetings in 2017-18. In the first matchup this season on Feb. 2, Mason tied the score at 52-52 at the 10:40 mark of the second half, but VCU scored 27 of the final 39 points of the game to finish off a 79-63 victory in Richmond. The Patriots shot 59 percent (23-39) from 2-point range but struggled from 3-point range, converting 2-of-19 attempts (.105) from deep.
Jordan Miller posted 14 points and a career-best 13 rebounds in the game, while
Jarred Reuter added 15 points and made all six of his field goal attempts.
Greg Calixte also put together an excellent effort with 13 points (6-8 FG) and three rebounds in 20 minutes on the floor.
A LOOK AT THE RAMS (23-6, 14-2 Atlantic 10; KenPom No. 42, NET No. 36)
VCU was picked to finish seventh in the 2018-19 Atlantic 10 preseason poll but currently lead the conference with two games to go. The Rams have won their past 10 games. VCU went 9-4 vs. the second toughest non-conference schedule in the nation, including wins at Texas (54-53) and vs. Temple (57-51). VCU features its usual suffocating defense, which ranks seventh in the nation in efficiency (0.888 points/possession). The Rams force a turnover on 23.5 percent of opponent possessions (8th nationally) and are third in the country in 3-point field goal defense (.277). Rice transfer Marcus Evans leads the team in scoring (14.6 ppg) and assists (4.0 apg) in A-10 play, while De'Riante Jenkins (11.3 ppg), Marcus Santos-Silva (11.1 ppg) and Isaac Vann (10.3 ppg) also average double figures for VCU in league action.

Mason wraps up the regular season with a road contest at Revolutionary Rival George Washington. The Patriots and Colonials will square off Saturday at 2 p.m. in the nation's capital. The game will be televised regionally on Stadium.
