FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason softball team will host its final home tournament this weekend, with competition beginning Friday. The Patriots (5-9) will welcome East Carolina (14-10), Sacred Heart (8-7) and Cornell (1-8) to the George Mason Softball Complex for the three-day, ten-game tournament.

All of Mason's games will be streamed on ESPN+ this weekend. Links can be found on Mason's online schedule. 

LAST TIME OUT
Mason went 2-2 at the Cherry Blossom Classic, picking up two wins against Lafayette. Junior Bekah Ansbro pitched her first career no-hitter in Mason's 1-0 win over Lafayette on Saturday. It was Mason's first no-hitter since March 6, 2016. A triple by Adriana Erickson scored the decisive, only run of the game.
 
In Mason's 3-0 victory over the Leopards on Sunday, pitcher Haellie Gordon recorded her first win of the season in shutout fashion. Freshman Taylor Dadig led the offense with two hits while Alyssa Lawton notched her first RBI of the season.
 
WELLS IS BACK
After missing the start of the season due to injury, junior Sydnee Wells made her 2019 debut last weekend, starting all four games. The La Crescenta, Calif., native collected three hits in four games, hitting a team-high .375. She also drew five walks for an on-base percentage of .571. 
 
RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY
The weather woes continue for the Patriots as eight games have been canceled this season due to inclement weather. With rain in the expected forecast on Friday, stay up to date on Mason softball social media for any schedule changes. 
 
UP NEXT
The Patriots will host a doubleheader against Saint Francis (Pa.) at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20 before kicking off conference play with a series against the Dayton Flyers on March 23-24 in Dayton, Ohio.
