PATRIOT POINTS
* With a victory, Mason would advance to Saturday's semifinal round and face the winner of No. 1 VCU/No. 8 Rhode Island.

* The Patriots are 3-5 all time in the A-10 Tournament. A win Friday would give Mason its first ever berth in the A-10 semifinals. The Patriots are 0-3 in the first round, 3-0 in the second round and 0-2 in the quarterfinals.

* Mason improved to 3-0 all time in A-10 second round games with a 61-57 win over GW Thursday in the Barclays Center. The Patriots outscored GW 12-5 over the final 6:21 of play.

* Since the start of 2017-18, Mason is 13-3 in A-10 games decided by five points or less. That includes an 11-3 mark in the regular season and 2-0 record in the A-10 Tournament.

* 2019 Atlantic 10 Most Improved Player Justin Kier shined for Mason in the win. After posting 27 total points in his first four career A-10 Tournament games, Kier nearly reached that mark Thursday with a 26-point effort. He made 10-of-14 field goals, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out a game-high five assists.

* Kier's 26 points marked an all-time best by a Patriot in the A-10 Tournament. The previous high of 25 was set by Marquise Moore in the 2017 second round vs. Fordham. Moore was the 2017 A-10 Most Improved Player.

* With his 12th point Thursday, Kier became the 38th player in school history to reach the 1,000-point milestone.

*  Senior Otis Livingston II added 12 points (3-8 3pt FG) vs. GW including a clutch 3-pointer with Mason trailing 54-52.

* Livingston II has scored 10+ points in 14 of the past 16 games. With his second triple vs. GW, he became just the third player in school history to reach 200 career 3-pointers made.

* Livingston II needs just nine assists to become the second player in school history to reach 500 career dimes. Kier needs three more assists to reach 200 for his career.

* The Patriots held GW to 57 points Thursday. Mason is 15-2 in games where the Patriots hold their opponent under 70 points. The Green & Gold are 3-12 when their opponent scores more than 70.

* Mason also limited GW to just 35 percent shooting. The Patriots are 8-2 this season when their opponent shoots below 40 percent.

* Javon Greene has made 26-consecutive free throws. The school record is 34, set by then-sophomore Otis Livingston II in 2016-17.

* Thursday's victory marked Mason's first ever in the Barclays Center. The Patriots went a combined 0-3 in the 2014-16 A-10 Tournaments held inside the Brooklyn venue.

HISTORY vs. ST. BONAVENTURE
Friday's matchup marks the 11th all-time meeting between Mason and SBU. The Bonnies hold a 7-3 advantage in the series, including a 6-1 mark since Mason joined the A-10 in 2013-14. It's the first ever meeting in the Atlantic 10 Tournament. The two teams split a pair of meetings this season. Mason won in Fairfax, 68-53, on Jan. 6. Then SBU returned the favor in Olean on Feb. 17, claiming a 79-56 victory. Justin Kier averaged 18.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and shot 42.9 percent from the floor in the two meetings in 2018-19. Otis Livingston II added 11.5 points and shot 47.1 percent from the floor. Sophomore Greg Calixte had eight points and nine rebounds in the Jan. 6 contest, but missed the game in New York due to a concussion.
